Earrings for Her - How to Pick the Right Pair

When you buy jewelry as a gift for a woman, whether it is your mother, your sister, a friend or someone special, make it a pair of earrings.

Why?

If you get her a necklace, chances are she wouldn't wear that necklace until she's bought a pair of earrings that match. If you buy her earrings, she'll be able to wear them right away.

Why is that so?

If she has pierced her ears, she'd probably wear earrings most of the time. Otherwise, the piecing would show.

Now for the earrings themselves. How do you know which pair would suit her best?

First, look at her overall size? If she is petite, get her something small and delicate that would be proportionate with her size. If she is big, tiny earrings would get lost on her. In that case, chunky jewelry would suit her best.

Although I'm partial towards drop earrings, as a gift, I'd recommend stud earrings. They are the safest. Unless you know she has a preference for a different type of earring, like hoops or chandeliers, studs are your best bet. Every woman can wear them. Some women feel self conscious wearing dangling earrings while others might think they look silly with hoops but practically everyone can wear stud earrings.

Is it going to be a birthday gift for her?

I suggest you get her birthstone jewelry. There's a birthstone for every month of the year. Garnet for January, Amethyst for February, Aquamarine for March, Diamond for April, Emerald for May, Pearl for June, Ruby for July, Carnelian for August, Sapphire for September, Opal for October, Citrine for November and Turquoise for December. A birthstone is more personal as it is specially for those born in that month. Get her a personal birthstone set in earrings. Now that would be a wonderful birthday gift for her.

Wow!!! What are the chances?

I never thought I would see my earrings again. They were a gift from my Aunt who passed away years ago and they were my favorite earrings. Diamonds and Amethyst. Well the night I had my c-section I had to take them out and I gave them to my husband and he thought he lost one of them them well I guess he must have washed his jeans and one fell out in the washing machine so he thought he lost it. Well I opened up the dryer and laying on a towel there it was. I was so happy to see it lol. That's about one of the best things that is coming out of the worst.

My question is has anything like that ever happened to you? Did you think you would never see something again and all of a sudden it shows up?
I just can't believe it what are the odds of it making it through the washer and dryer lol. I would have thought it would have gone right through the pipes.

yes, about 2 years ago I lost the center diamond out of my wedding ring...talk about make me sick to my stomach....so anyhow I searched EVERYWHERE I had been that day.....nothing. So we went ahead and ordered up a new diamond, had it placed. About 4months later I was in my car and my purse fell upside down on the floor. I went around to the passenger side to pick it up and when I went to put everything back in it, I seen this shiny thing in the bottom of my purse....I grabbed it, thinking it was garbage and wouldn't you know it was my friggin DIAMOND!! I just couldn't believe it, I was SO happy. So now it is tucked safely away in my jewelry box, and I'll probably have it made into a special ring for my daughter for her 18th birthday or something.
